Tour Plan
Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa (Introduction to the Andes)
Your adventure begins early in the morning with a hotel pick-up in Cusco. We travel through scenic Andean valleys, passing traditional villages and breathtaking landscapes on our way to Mollepata.
After enjoying a nutritious breakfast, we continue by transport to Soraypampa (3,900 m / 12,795 ft), the starting point of the trek.
Surrounded by towering mountains and glaciers, this is where your trekking experience truly begins.
You will hike for approximately 3–4 hours, gradually acclimatizing while enjoying:
- Panoramic views of snow-capped peaks
- Open valleys and highland scenery
- First encounters with local flora and fauna
Optional Activity:
In the afternoon, you can hike to the stunning Humantay Lake, a turquoise glacial lake at the base of the mountains.
Experience:
The peaceful atmosphere and dramatic landscape make this one of the most beautiful spots in the Andes.
Overnight:

Day 2: Soraypampa – Salkantay Pass – Chaullay (The Challenge Day)
This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the entire trek.
After an early breakfast, we begin a steady ascent towards the highest point: Salkantay Pass (4,650 m / 15,255 ft), located near the sacred Salkantay Mountain.
During the climb:
- Witness dramatic glacier views
- Feel the power of the Andes
- Walk through high-altitude landscapes
Reaching the pass is a moment of triumph — surrounded by towering peaks and deep silence, it is a truly spiritual experience.
After taking time at the summit, we begin a long descent into a completely different environment.
Landscape transition:
- From cold mountains → to warm cloud forest
- From rocky terrain → to green vegetation
We arrive in Chaullay, located in the edge of the jungle.
Overnight:
- Campsite or basic lodge
- Dinner and rest
Day 3: Chaullay – La Playa – Santa Teresa (Into the Jungle)
Today the trek becomes more relaxed and immersive as you enter the tropical zone.
You will hike through:
- Coffee plantations
- Banana and fruit farms
- Rivers and waterfalls
- Warm and humid jungle climate
This day offers a completely different perspective of Peru, showing its incredible biodiversity.
You will also:
- Visit local families
- Learn about coffee production
- Taste fresh organic products
After reaching La Playa, we transfer to Santa Teresa.
Optional Experience:
- Relax in the hot springs of Santa Teresa
Overnight:
- Lodge or campsite
- Comfortable rest after a long day
Day 4: Santa Teresa – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes (Approaching Machu Picchu)
The excitement builds as you get closer to Machu Picchu.
After breakfast, we head towards Hydroelectric.
From here, you have two options:
- Hike (approx. 3 hours) along the railway surrounded by jungle scenery
- Optional train ride for more comfort
This scenic walk is peaceful and filled with anticipation as you approach the final destination.
Arrival in Aguas Calientes:
- Check-in at hotel
- Free time to explore the town
- Dinner and briefing for Machu Picchu
Day 5: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco (The Grand Finale)
The most anticipated day has arrived.
We wake up early to take one of the first buses to Machu Picchu and enjoy sunrise over the citadel (weather permitting).
Guided Experience:
- Explore temples, terraces, and ceremonial areas
- Discover the history and mysteries of the Incas
- Visit the most iconic viewpoints
Seeing Machu Picchu emerging from the clouds is a moment you will never forget.
After the guided tour:
